Tapinto.net: Fanwood Recognizes Autism Awareness Month

FANWOOD, NJ — In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, Scott Matthews, Executive Director of Intensive Therapeutics in Fanwood, spoke to the Council on Monday evening.

Intensive Therapeutics offers various programs for children with autism and other disabilities and is the recipient of the ROID Grant (Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities).

ROID Grants facilitate inclusion in recreation and sports programs for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Scott was accompanied by a student tennis instructor, Nirmit Damania, 17, a senior at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High, who has organized tennis clinics for children with special needs.

Intensive Therapeutics is a non-profit charitable organization that provides group and individual occupational therapy services to children with special needs in Fanwood and West Caldwell.
