Tommy’s big brother Paul Des Brisay hung out with Ben Cork every day as preteens and teens…and Ben became like a part of our family. Ben really understood Tommy close up- the joyous moments as well as the daily struggles. As Paul’s close friend, Ben always made Tommy’s days better, as he and Paul included Tommy in much of their day to day guy stuff, and often joined in Tommy’s wacky ideas and games! Well, now Ben and his mom, Sue, kindly nominated Tommy for Ottawa’s Amazing People award! Thank you so much, Ben and Sue, for this lovely gesture, and for always being such a good friend to Tommy! At the link below, you will find the heartfelt nomination written by Ben and Sue! While you are there, please check out the other amazing nominees on the Facebook page of Ottawa’s Amazing People for 2017! We are so honoured that Tommy was included in such an incredible group of people! We got our best Disco clothes on for the Gala on October 21- and we looked pretty funky! Tommy’s friend Bethany joined him for the Disco Gala as his dance partner, and they had an awesome time dancing together! Thank you to all the amazing volunteers who work so hard to make this event such a success each year! Thank you once again to photographer Yonathan Kellerman for this great photo of Tommy at Worlds used in Tommy’s nominee description! (c) Yonathan Kellerman – ykellerman.com
