Video:AUTISTIC WEREWOLF- WHY LABELS EXPECIALLY HIGH & LOW FUNCTIONING AUTISM IS ARE A LOAD OF CRAP!

Video:AUTISTIC WEREWOLF- WHY LABELS EXPECIALLY HIGH & LOW FUNCTIONING AUTISM IS ARE A LOAD OF CRAP!

Well meaning Neurotypicals too often use the terms High Functioning Autism & Low Functioning Autism as tools to oppress people on our spectrum! To be labeled High Functioning by neurotypicals is held out like a doggie treat. Even in the best case labeling a person with autism High Functioning versus Low Functioning telegraphs the bias, self limiting expectations, autism prejudices and autism ignorance of the neurotypical making the assessment.

Before my systems were advanced enough to correctly and consistently make all the proper neurotypical common sense reality processing connections I was usually called a low functioning autistic. Once my systems evolved to the point where I could function near my developmental age I was called high functioning autistic.

People today who see my systems facing an unknown for which I have no solution in my self management database would think me very low functioning. Finally some Neurotypicals use High Functioning Autism label as a carrot and the low functioning autism label as a stick to keep autistic people in their place! The terms High Functioning and Low Functioning Autism are easy tools to abuse in the hands of well meaning ignorant or the hurtful bully.

In this video I share insights above the dangers and abuse associated with Neurotypical use of High Functioning Autism and Low Functioning Autism LABELS!
